Benefits Administrator

Excellent opportunity for a full-time Benefits Administrator with a diverse, growth-oriented company working 3 days in Sioux City and 2 days in Omaha.

Responsibilities include:

  • Administration of employee group benefits
  • Evaluate and compare existing benefits with other companies to stay competitive
  • Research, recommend and implement new or modified plans and policies
  • Develop cost control procedures to assure maximum coverage at least possible cost
  • Assure company compliance and supervise report preparation and applications as required by law to be filed with agencies and other regulatory agencies
  • Assist in development of company bargaining proposals for employee benefits and analyze union benefits demands. Obtain and prepare cost data for company and union proposals and final settlements.
  • Handle inquiries, questions, complaints to ensure quick resolution working with other parties and employees
  • Supervise maintenance of enrollment and claims records for all benefits plans
  • Develop benefits information and statistical and census data for actuaries, insurance carriers and management
  • Develop, maintain and implement employee group benefits procedures manual
  • Oversee HRIS system functions and processes
  • Other duties as needed or assigned
  • BS degree
  • 5 years of benefits administration experience
  • Proficiency with Ceridian and/or Dayforce HRIS software
  • Solid job tenure
  • Able to multi-task and strong attention to detail with accuracy
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to interact with diverse range of people
  • Consistently calm, courteous, enthusiastic, customer service-oriented nature
  • Self starter with experience managing projects from inception to completion
  • Commitment to continual improvement and learning to ensure benefit programs and processes are responsive and competitive
  • Valid driver's license and insurable under company's insurance program
  • Able to work 3 days in Sioux City and 2 days in Omaha (company car or mileage/hotel/food provided)
