A established manufacturing company seeking an experience painter.

Under the direction and supervision of the Department Production Supervisor and in cooperation with the TeamLeader, perform a variety of tasks related to the painting and finishing details in the production process of heavyand large mechanical products per specifications and in accordance with the production schedule. 

Primary Duties and Responsibilities 

1. Prepare surfaces of parts and equipment to be painted using brushes, scrapers, solvents, air grinders/sanders, etc. 
2. Applies masking tape over parts and areas that are not to be coated. 
3. Mix and prepare paint materials for use. 
4. Paint parts and equipment in accordance with Quality Control and job order specifications. 
5. Fills cavities and dents with putty to attain smooth surface when needed. 
6. Transport and set up parts and equipment to be painted. 
7. Perform maintenance on all paint related equipment including paint booths. 
8. Assist in estimating paint requirements and inventory control of paint-related products and supplies. Prepare or maintain department records on paint usage, etc. 
9. Operate, maintain, and use personal protective equipment and other safety supplies and equipment. 
10. Perform sandblasting duties as required. 
11. Job requires using a computer mouse to access and open/close computer documents. 
12. Participate in process and product development and improvement programs, teams, and focus groups. 
13. Perform or assist in other assigned duties as qualified. 
14. Maintain a safe and clean working environment by complying with Company policies relating to safety, 
housekeeping, and Hazardous Waste Management programs. 

Essential Functions of the Job (with or without reasonable accommodation) 

1. Perform work standing on concrete a minimum of 8 hours and up to 12 hours per day, and a minimum of 4 
days up to 6 days per week. 
2. Willingness to train or work during hours outside of regularly-scheduled core shift. 
3. Flexibility to work additional hours beyond and consecutively with core work schedule when needed. 
4. Willingness to cross-train and perform the work of other job tasks or positions in the Company outside of or 
in addition to primarily-assigned position, work area, or department. 
5. Regular and reliable attendance. 
6. Perform work safely in accordance with all Company safety policies, procedures, and Personal Protective 
Equipment (PPE) requirements. 
7. Perform work in various physical positions including standing, kneeling, squatting, bending, and reaching 
(temporary variances may be accommodated based on employee’s primary assignment). 
8. Perform work in heavy industrial setting with exposure to heat, cold, and humidity, industrial odors, fumes, gasses, chemicals, oil, grease, smoke, dust, noise, and vibration, and could involve climbing ladders and stairs, using pneumatic tools, working in cramped quarters, and working with moving machinery. Must be able to climb onto plant or equipment to perform work, and climb and work off of ladders and work platforms. 
9. Ability to wear the Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) required for this position, including hearing 
protection, safety glasses, safety boots with metatarsal guards, face shield, welding helmet, welding gloves, 
welding sleeves/jacket (leather or cloth), and welding apron/chaps. A respirator may also be required. 
10. Ability to read and comprehend a tape measure. Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide whole 
numbers, common fractions, and decimals. 
11. Ability to understand welding symbols and diagrams, read blueprints, and/or other printed instructional 
material in the welding of products or parts. 
12. Ability to use a variety of hand tools and devices, including air tools, grinders, and paint guns. 
13. Ability to wear the Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) required for this position, including hearing 
protection, safety glasses, goggles, safety boots with metatarsal guards, face shield, chemical gloves, 
disposable Tyvek suit, and head stocking. A respirator is also required.

Education and Experience 

1. High School Diploma or GED required. 
2. Heavy equipment painting experience and/or familiarity with spraying devices and processes preferred. 
3. Experience with an airless, air-assisted paint system or electrostatic paint guns preferred. 
4. Computer experience desired, particularly the ability to use a mouse, and locate and open/close files.

incorrect tasks completed by oneself or others.
