Territory Sales Manager

Our client provides food manufacturing clients with plant designs, concept lay-outs, equipment detail designs and fabrication of equipment.  From cradle to grave, they have in-house services needed to meet project specs and deadlines for projects ranging from large to small.  Looking to add a Territory Manager who will identify, develop, and pursue new projects to increase business.  Compensation package includes base plus commission, expenses and benefits.  Territory to be covered includes:  KS, IA, MN, MO, NE, ND, SD.  Looking for candidates with a strong network of contacts in the food manufacturing industry.  Position can base out of any of territory states.  


  • Establish, develop and maintain business relationships with current and prospective customers in assigned territory to generate new business.
  • Market via phone calls and in-person visits and presentations to existing and prospective customers.
  • Research sources for developing prospective customers.
  • Develop clear and effective written proposals/quotes.
  • Expedite resolutions of customer problems and complaints.
  • Offer continued customer support and account maintenance after the sale.
  • Coordinate sales effort with marketing, sales management, accounting, logistics and technical service groups.
  • Analyze territory market potential and determine value of existing and prospective customers value to the organization.
  • Create and manage customer value plan for existing customers highlighting profile, share and value opportunities.
  • Identify advantages and compare company's products/services.
  • Plan and organize personal sales strategy by maximizing ROI for territory.
  • Gather all information to help better quote and service job (i.e. – scope of work, definition of job, budgets, deadlines, partners, general contractors, etc).
  • Supply management with oral and written reports on customer needs, problems, interests, competitive activities, and potential for new products and services.
  • Input updates into web-based CRM System for all new clients; also call and email correspondence.
  • Create and follow up on tasks assigned to opportunities continually updating client info.
  • Stay current with product applications, technical services, market conditions, competitive activities, advertising and promotional trends.
  • Participate in trade shows and conventions.
  • Work with marketing to develop strategy to increase sales growth and potential within territory.
  • Potential collections for projects may be required.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Regular travel to cover territory is expected with occasional travel outside territory as needed.   

  • 2+ years of proven successful sales experience in related market (food manufacturing equipment sales).
  • Demonstrated aptitude for problem-solving & results-oriented
  • Consultative sales approach that helps determine solutions for customers
  • Proficiency in using Microsoft Office Suite applications and in-house software
  • Must have valid driver’s license
