Purchasing Agent

Job ID: 008-0013 Industry: Clerical/Office Support Pay Rate: $16.00+ (DOE)

If you have a strong work ethic, you will fit right in with this role! A local steel distributor is seeking a detailed-oriented purchasing assistant. The hours for the purchasing assistant is Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM with overtime as needed. The pay rate starts at $16.00/hour but could go higher depending on experience. 

 

Duties of the Purchasing Assistant:

  • Track and expedite material orders
  • Analyze inventory levels
  • Track supply obligations 
  • Assist the purchase manager with contracts, vendors, quotes, etc.

Requirements of the Purchasing Assistant:

  • High school diploma/GED
  • At least 2 years of purchasing experience 
  • Excellent communication and computer skills
  • Experience with Microsoft Office programs
  • A college education is preferred, but not required
  • Experience in inventory management is preferred, but not required
