Temper Mill Operator on 2^nd Shift | $19.00/hr

Hours are Monday to Thursday 3:30 pm to 1:30 am- OT as needed.

Training will be done Monday to Thursday 10 am to 8:00 pm

A locally owned steel company in Sioux City, Iowa is looking for a Temper Mill machine operator to join their team! This position works both independently and on a team to move sheets of metals.  This is a great opportunity to work with a long-term, reputable steel company in the area. Responsibilities:

• Operate temper mill machine.  
• Use overhead cranes & forklifts to move materials.
• Determines the sequence of operation by reading the shop drawings, specifications and all work orders.
• Cuts, lay outs, and steel.
• Set up and arrange work area suited for most efficient production runs.  
• Uses proper setting technique of the machines to avoid damage to the machines.
• Accurately reads and understand a tape measure to 1/16 inch.
•  Follows assigned work instructions to prepare items to be processed.
• Other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

• Ability to work after given direction on own.
• Ability to lift up to 50lbs.
• Must have own transportation.
• Trained overhead crane and forklift operator prefers at least 1 year.
• Must possess the ability to read, understand, and communicate effectively in the English language and contribute to the success of the team.
• Must have demonstrated ability to read blue prints, tape measure, calipers, and comprehend documents such as safety rules, operating and procedure manuals.
• Must be reliable with good work history.
