Plasma Operator | $16.40/hour+ DOE

Hours include Monday-Friday, 6 am-4:30 pm, some Saturdays 6 am-12 pm

A manufacturing company in Storm Lake, IA is hiring a Plasma Operator to join their team! The Plasma Operator is responsible for the set-up and operation of machinery specific to the area of responsibility in accordance with blueprints, drawing and/or verbal instructions. The perfect candidate will have experience in manufacturing environments. This position includes day hours and the opportunity for overtime.  Apply TODAY while we have openings available!

Responsibilities:

• Responsible for set-up, operate and maintain set-up for machinery in parts are as per company procedures.
• Check production product and material to ensure compliance with tolerance/quality standards
• Operation of required measuring instruments – tape measure, micrometer as well as various hand tools such as grinder, hammer, hand plasma cutter, etc.
• Read and interpret blueprints
• Operate a fork lift and over head cranes in compliance with Meridian safety policies
• Conduct quality inspections of work
  

Requirements:

• Ability to operate required equipment in a safe and responsible manner
• Knowledge of appropriate materials, methods and the tools required in various processes
• Strong working mechanical knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair and maintenance
• Ability to stand/walk up to 10 hours per day
• Ability to lift 50+ lbs frequently
• Ability to work in all weather conditions, including indoors and outdoors
