Accounting & Payroll Specialist

Large, local, diverse client with multiple locations needs an Accounting & Payroll Specialist to coordinate payroll services in a multi-state environment. They will also assist with financial reviews as well as benefit enrollment and compliance. Positive, family-friendly culture with great benefits.
Responsibilities will include:
- Assist locations with QuickBooks software. Provide guidance in using the standardized Chart of Accounts to ensure uniformity.
- Handle scheduled payroll services for multiple locations.
- Provide general accounting support and on-going training to location bookkeepers. Respond to inquiries in a timely manner.
- Train new bookkeepers and provide interim bookkeeping services as needed.
- Assist with the receipt of the annual financial reports.
- Assist with preparation and presentation of annual bookkeeper meetings.
- Assist with and complete desk reviews and on-site financial reviews to analyze financial transactions and internal control practices.
- Assist HR with benefit enrollments as needed.
Requirements:
- Associate Degree in Accounting, Finance or Business Administration or equivalent work experience
- 2+ years of accounting experience required including payroll services
- Accounting skills including GL, AP, AR and financial statements are essential
- Strong working knowledge of double entry accounting software such as QuickBooks, Peach Tree or similar accounting software required
- Organized & detail-oriented with demonstrated ability to meet deadlines, track projects and organize multiple tasks in busy office environment
- Proficient with Microsoft Office
- Excellent communication skills that includes dealing with public and preparing written reports
