Benefits Specialist | $22-$29/hr
Monday-Friday, 8:00am-5:00pm
Are you a detail-oriented professional with a passion for employee well-being? A Sioux City company is seeking a Benefits Specialist to join their Human Resources team and play a critical role in managing and administering their comprehensive employee benefits programs. This role requires excellent organizational skills, a strong understanding of benefits regulations, and a commitment to providing outstanding service to their employees.
Responsibilities:
- Guide new hires and employees through benefit enrollment and life/work event changes.
- Assist in planning and executing the annual open enrollment process.
- Respond to employee questions about medical, dental, vision, and other benefits.
- Manage FMLA and other leave of absence requests, ensuring compliance with federal and company policies.
- Support ADA accommodation coordination with HR leadership and managers.
- File and track short-term/long-term disability claims and COBRA notifications.
- Collaborate with third-party vendors and insurance providers to resolve issues.
- Help maintain accurate benefit records for audits and compliance.
Requirements:
- High school diploma (HR or Business coursework preferred).
- 2+ years of experience in benefits administration or HR support.
- Working knowledge of benefit systems and HRIS (experience with ADP a plus).
- Strong problem-solving and documentation skills.
- A collaborative spirit and a drive to support others.
