Boiler Operator – Class 1B

We are searching for a Boiler Operator with a class 1-B boiler license for a local company in Blue Earth, MN. This person is responsible for the operation, inspection, maintenance, and repair of high-pressure steam or hot water boilers in accordance with safety regulations and facility standards.

Responsibilities:

• Operate and maintain high-pressure boilers and auxiliary equipment (e.g., pumps, compressors, heat exchangers).
• Monitor boiler controls, gauges, and alarms to ensure proper operation.
• Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance on boiler systems.
• Record data such as temperatures, pressures, fuel usage, and maintenance activities in logs or digital systems.
• Respond to equipment malfunctions, conduct troubleshooting, and coordinate repairs as needed.
• Ensure compliance with all safety and environmental regulations.
• Test boiler water and adjust chemical levels to prevent corrosion or scaling.
• Assist with emergency shutdowns or startups.

Qualifications:

• Valid Class 1B Boiler Operator License (state-specific).
• High school diploma or equivalent; technical training preferred.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in boiler operation.
• Knowledge of state and federal boiler regulations and safety codes.
• Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
