Deli Cook | $17.50/hrour
Open: Monday through Friday 6:00am-3:00pm Saturday 8:00am-2:00pm| Hours TBD
A North Sioux Area coffee shop is seeking a deli cook for both full-time & part-time positions. If you have a passion for creating great food and enjoy a fast-paced environment, they would love to meet you!
Responsibilities:
Prepare all deli menu items, including but not limited to: sandwiches, wraps, subs, salads, soups, hot entrées, and side dishes.
Slice and portion deli meats and cheeses with precision using a commercial slicer.
Follow standardized recipes and production sheets to ensure consistent quality and portion control.
Manage and monitor inventory of all deli ingredients, notifying management of low stock.
Ensure proper food storage, rotation (FIFO), and labeling to minimize waste and maintain freshness.
Maintain a clean, sanitized, and organized work station, refrigeration units, and prep areas.
Adhere strictly to all local and company food safety and sanitation guidelines.
Assist with general kitchen prep work and support other kitchen staff as needed.
Occasionally interact with customers to take special orders or answer questions about menu items (depending on the environment).
Requirements:
Proficiency in operating commercial kitchen equipment, including slicers.
Thorough knowledge of food safety principles and proper handling of perishable ingredients.
Ability to work efficiently, quickly, and accurately under pressure during peak service times.
Strong communication and teamwork skills.
Reliable, punctual, and flexible to work various shifts, which may include mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Ability to stand for long periods, lift up to 30 lbs, and handle the physical demands of a commercial kitchen.
