Director of Engineering
Monday - Friday, 7:30 AM - 4:30 PM
Looking for an experienced, hands-on Director of Engineering for a local manufacturing client that is a leader in their industry. Quality and continuous improvement are key to their success along with striving to improve their products and services and listening to their customers. This is an excellent opportunity to share your engineering knowledge and provide vision and leadership in the development & operation of their Engineering Department.
Responsibilities will include:
- Ensure product designs are legal, safe, competitive and profitable.
- Align engineering activities and projects with company goals and objectives along with providing annual budget & controlling expenses.
- Organize and provide expert guidance and support to the engineering team including training, developing and mentoring.
- Create and enforce departmental policies and maintain positive relationships with both internal and external customers
- Provide strategic and tactical planning, development and coordination of the Engineering department.
- Prioritize and develop the scope of Engineering projects.
- Oversee the operations of the product line engineering divisions through the Product Line Engineering Managers.
- Supply information to Engineering, Manufacturing, Sales, Warranty, Supply Chain and Service to help those departments in their decision making processes.
- Ensure Engineering is providing timely and accurate bills of material and drawings.
Qualifications:
- BS Degree in Mechanical Engineering
- PE is a plus
- 10 years of engineering experience as Mechanical or Design Engineer
- Previous management/supervisory experience
- Strong communication & team building skills
- Desire for working, hands-on manager role
- Valid Driver's License and good driving record as travel is required
