Safety Manager

Job Summary:
Aventure Staffing is working with a local company seeking a results-driven EHS Manager to lead safety and environmental compliance for a premier food manufacturing facility. This role is critical in maintaining a “safety-first” culture while ensuring total adherence to OSHA, EPA, and SQF standards. The ideal candidate must be bilingual fluent in English and Spanish, and be able to administer policies and procedures in accordance with established local, state and federal requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Program Development & Management: Design and maintain comprehensive EHS programs, including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), Job Hazard Analysis (JHA), and site security initiatives.
- Training & Onboarding: Facilitate all safety education, including new-hire inductions, technical safety training, and daily toolbox talks, while maintaining meticulous tracking systems.
- Auditing & Compliance: Lead site inspections, Safety Layered Process Audits (LPA), and contractor compliance reviews; manage technical reporting, SDS databases, and regulatory recordkeeping.
- Incident Investigation & Resolution: Perform root-cause analysis for incidents, coordinate corrective actions, and facilitate hazard elimination strategies with front-line supervision.
- Floor Leadership & Engagement: Champion a "Zero Injury" culture through active shop-floor observations, PPE monitoring, and real-time coaching to ensure safe work practices.
- Continuous Improvement: Partner with management to drive safety Kaizen events, lead safety committees, and implement ergonomic improvements across the site.
- Administer first aid to employees as needed.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in EHS or Environmental Science, or 7+ years of equivalent experience in a plant environment.
- Proven experience in food manufacturing is required
- Bilingual fluent in English and Spanish is required.
- OSHA 10/30 Hour training required; CSP or similar EHS certifications preferred
- Strong knowledge of local, state, and federal regulations (OSHA) and Safety Management Systems
- Exceptional interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
- Self-directed leader with strong organizational, time management, and multi-tasking abilities.
- Detail-oriented team player capable of working effectively across multiple departments.
