Electrical Maintenance Technician

Night Shift: 5pm - 5am

Our client company located in the Humboldt, IA area is looking for a skilled, hard working, and dependable Electrical Maintenance Technician for their Night Shift. The Electrical Maintenance Technician plays a vital role in ensuring safe, reliable, and efficient 24-hour plant operation by focusing on quick response to unplanned equipment issues during the night, as well as executing essential preventative and predictive maintenance. This position works closely with the day-shift Electrician for technical guidance and collaborative 24/7 coverage. Regular travel between two local sites is required.

Responsibilities:

• Work safely at all times, model safe behaviors and strictly adhere to all procedures (LOTO, ARc Flash, PPE, etc.). Ensure all work complies with applicable codes.
• Quickly respond to unplanned electrical and mechanical equipment issues to minimize plant downtime
• Diagnose and repair motors, controls, sensors, relays and all electrical devices up to 480 volts
• Perform inspections, cleaning, calibration and torque checks as part of structured PM routes
• Utilize tools like thermal imaging, ultrasonic testing, and standard electrical equipment to identify potential failures before they happen
• Record work orders, parts used, repair notes, and communicate status/risks clearly in the CMMS and during shift handoffs
• Support mechanical repairs and assist the operations team as needed, maintaining clear communication with the day shift Tech and Maintenance Manager

Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Proven electrical and mechanical maintenance experience in an industrial manufacturing environment.
• The ability to accurately read schematics, blueprints, and follow maintenance routines.
• Strong troubleshooting skills and solid mechanical aptitude.
• Clear communication and commitment to teamwork.
• Prior experience with CMMS systems and structured reporting and familiarity with PLCs, VFDs and predictive maintenance tools are a plus!
