Fabrication Estimator & Drafter | $29-$35/hour (Based on experience)

Monday - Frday | 7:00am - 5:30pm 

A company in the Waterbury Nebraska area is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Fabrication Estimator/Drafter to join their growing team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in mechanical/structural drafting, materials take-offs, and manufacturing processes, ensuring accurate and competitive project pricing and clear fabrication documentation. Responsibilities: 

• Review fabrication drawings and specifications to prepare detailed material take-offs
  and cost estimates.
• Generate labor and material pricing for shop-fabricated steel, piping, and components.
• Draft or revise shop drawings for fabrication and installation as needed.
• Collaborate with project managers and shop supervisors to ensure accurate scope,
  material selection, and fabrication methods.
• Solicit pricing from vendors and suppliers for raw materials and outsourced processes (e.g., galvanizing, machining, coatings).
• Maintain organized records of estimates, drawings, and revisions for ongoing and completed jobs.
• Support pre-fabrication planning and assist with production scheduling when required.
• Ensure estimates and drawings align with company standards for quality, safety, and efficiency.

Requirements: 

• Associate’s degree in Drafting, Engineering Technology, or Construction Management
  (preferred) or equivalent practical experience.
• 3+ years of experience in steel fabrication estimating, detailing, or drafting (industrial
  or structural).
• Proficiency with AutoCAD, Bluebeam, and Microsoft Excel.
• Strong ability to read and interpret fabrication and structural drawings.
• Excellent organizational and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently while coordinating effectively with internal teams.
•  No travel requirements — position is based full-time in Waterbury, NE.
