Finance Officer
$53 -$80/year, based on experience
Monday - Friday, 8am to 5pm

This is an opportunity to work for a local governmental organization in Siouxland.  As a Finance Officer, you will be responsible for administrative, bookkeeping, and accounting work.  This job as a Finance Officer is a great opportunity for individuals who are adaptable and enjoy working with numbers, solving problems, and responding to citizens in the area.  If you describe yourself as an analytical and detailed professional with excellent interpersonal communication and problem-solving skills, then we would love to consider you for this position!

Responsibilities:

• Answers calls and responds to citizens’ questions and concerns
• Process orders, data, prepares mailings/billing
• Collections of delinquent accounts
• Prepares legal notices
• Maintains financial data, prepares financial statements, and reports information in monthly meetings

• Develop and maintain documents and records
• Effectively manage confidential information and ensure legal compliance

Requirements:

• BA/BS in Accounting/Business/Finance or related field and or 2-3 years’ experience in a similar position/governmental accounting
• Experience with budgeting, financial statements, and financial administration
• Previous management/supervisory experience is preferred
• Proficient with technology, able to effectively use a variety of applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, the Internet, accounting, payroll, and utility software)
• Ability to meet deadlines and multi-task
• Excellent communication skills (verbal and written)
