HR Generalist

$55k + DOE

Monday – Friday, day shift

SUMMARY

As the HR Generalist, you will be responsible for performing HR-related duties on a professional level and works closely with senior HR management in supporting the company’s business units. This position carries out responsibilities in some or all of the following functional areas: recruitment, onboarding, employee relations, performance management, training, benefits administration, and HR compliance.  

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Recruitment and Onboarding:
    • Assist with recruitment process, including job postings and scheduling interviews.  
    • Conduct background checks and reference checks.
    • Coordinate and conduct new employee onboarding and orientation.
    • Maintain accurate records of all recruitment activities.
  • Employee Relations:
    • Serve as a point of contact for employee inquiries and concerns.
    • Address employee relations issues, such as conflicts, grievances, and disciplinary actions, in a fair and consistent manner.
  • Training and Development:
    • Coordinate training programs.
    • Maintain training records.
    • Assist with professional development programs.
  • Benefits Administration:
    • Assist with the administration of employee benefits programs, including health insurance, retirement plans, and other benefits.  
    • Answer employee questions regarding benefits.
    • Assist with benefits enrollment and changes.
  • HR Compliance:
    • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
    • Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee records.  
    • Assist with HR audits.
    • Stay informed of changes in HR laws and regulations.
  • HR Administration:
    • Maintain and update HR databases and systems.
    • Prepare HR reports and metrics.
    • Assist with HR projects and initiatives.
    • Maintain organized and accurate filing systems.


REQUIRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Proven experience as an HR Generalist or in a similar HR role.  
  • Strong knowledge of HR principles, practices, and employment laws.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.  
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.  
  • Proficiency in HRIS (Human Resources Information Systems) and Microsoft Office Suite.  
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.

 

PREFERRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS:

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • SHRM-CP or PHR certification.
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Bilingual Spanish/English
