HR Generalist

SUMMARY:
As the HR Generalist, you will be responsible for performing HR-related duties on a professional level and works closely with senior HR management in supporting the company’s business units. This position carries out responsibilities in some or all of the following functional areas: recruitment, onboarding, employee relations, performance management, training, benefits administration, and HR compliance.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Recruitment and Onboarding:
- Assist with recruitment process, including job postings and scheduling interviews.
- Conduct background checks and reference checks.
- Coordinate and conduct new employee onboarding and orientation.
- Maintain accurate records of all recruitment activities.
- Employee Relations:
- Serve as a point of contact for employee inquiries and concerns.
- Address employee relations issues, such as conflicts, grievances, and disciplinary actions, in a fair and consistent manner.
- Training and Development:
- Coordinate training programs.
- Maintain training records.
- Assist with professional development programs.
- Benefits Administration:
- Assist with the administration of employee benefits programs, including health insurance, retirement plans, and other benefits.
- Answer employee questions regarding benefits.
- Assist with benefits enrollment and changes.
- HR Compliance:
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee records.
- Assist with HR audits.
- Stay informed of changes in HR laws and regulations.
- HR Administration:
- Maintain and update HR databases and systems.
- Prepare HR reports and metrics.
- Assist with HR projects and initiatives.
- Maintain organized and accurate filing systems.
REQUIRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:
- Proven experience as an HR Generalist or in a similar HR role.
- Strong knowledge of HR principles, practices, and employment laws.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
- Proficiency in HRIS (Human Resources Information Systems) and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
PREFERRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS:
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
- SHRM-CP or PHR certification.
- Experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Bilingual Spanish/English
