Monday - Friday, 6am-2:30pm + Overtime
An established manufacturing company located in Algona, IA is looking for a skilled Machinist to join their growing team. As a Machinist, you will be responsible for operating machine tools such as lathes, milling machines, etc. in the machine shop area to produce metal parts with precision. You will also assist in writing programs for standard and special run parts. There may be opportunities to assist in other areas of the company which will require positive communication with supervisors, co-workers and other internal customers. Responsibilities:
- Operate manual and computer controlled machinery, i.e. - lathes and milling machines
- Perform general housekeeping and routine maintenance around the work area
- Follow all company standards for safety, quality and productivity
- Demonstrate regular and consistent attendance
- Identify and resolve issues within a timely manner
- Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor
- Respectful, positive attitude and communication with all members of the organization
Requirements:
- High school diploma or GED; and one to three months of related work experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Ability to lift/move up to 75 lbs. frequently
- Ability to use hands & arms repetitively and bend & stoop frequently
- Proficient math skills
- Ability to accurately utilize a variety of measuring instruments, i.e. - tape measure, micrometer, caliper, etc.
- Safely and efficiently use hand and power tools
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and/or order specifications
- Must possess a mechanical aptitude and ability to solve problems
