Maintenance Technician
Pay: $31 – $36/hour+ DOE
Hours: 2nd shift, 2 p.m. – 11:30 p.m. M-F
An established local manufacturer in the Sioux City area is hiring 2nd shift Maintenance Technicians to join their growing team. As a Maintenance Tech, you will be accountable for the daily maintenance of equipment, perform routine maintenance and troubleshoot equipment issues.
Key Responsibilities:
- Equipment Maintenance & Repair: Perform preventative maintenance, troubleshoot mechanical issues, and repair or fabricate parts for conveyor systems, pneumatic tools, and production machinery.
- Technical Inspection: Diagnose equipment issues using precision measuring instruments (calipers, micrometers), hand/power tools, hoists, and engineering schematics.
- Operational Efficiency: Help minimize downtime by supporting production staff on routine maintenance and maintaining accurate maintenance records and shift handovers.
- Team Leadership & Support: Assist with shift communication, monitor team metrics, mediate shift issues, and support ongoing safety/GMP/HACCP compliance.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Strong background in mechanical maintenance within a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Proficiency using hand/power tools, precision testing instruments, and machine shop equipment.
- Solid understanding of safety regulations, GMPs, HACCP, and food safety standards.
- Strong problem-solving, math, and communication skills.
- Flexibility to adapt to shift needs and work collaboratively across teams.
