Mixer/Operator
$18.50/hr + DOE + Shift Differential
Day & Night Shifts Available: 6:00am–6:00pm or 6:00pm–6:00am
We are hiring immediately for a Mixer/Operator in Sheldon, IA! This hands-on role in a feed production facility is ideal for a hardworking, team-oriented individual with strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail.
Responsibilities:
• Daily operation of equipment to process and manufacture feed products
• Mix and prepare livestock feeds efficiently while assuring accuracy and high quality
• Operate bagger, sewing machine, forklift, and all feed manufacturing equipment safely and efficiently
• Follow warehouse and loading protocols
• Ensure quality assurance standards are met for ingredient receiving, load-out, and bagging
• Record and document all feed manufactured during shift
• Assist with production scheduling, inventory planning, and inventory control
• Assist with equipment maintenance and minor repairs as needed
• Load and unload trucks in a safe and efficient manner
• Maintain and promote a strong safety culture and follow all safety policies and procedures
• Perform general work around the facility and other duties as assigned
Requirements:
• High school diploma or GED
• 1+ year of manufacturing experience preferred
• Farming background a plus
• Mechanical aptitude preferred
• Basic computer knowledge
• Good communication, verbal, written, and math skills
• Ability to work effectively as a team member
• Thorough understanding of cGMPs preferred
• Knowledge of OSHA safety requirements, HACCP Feed & Safety Plan, and FSMA preferred
• Ability to operate a forklift
• Ability to lift a minimum of 55 lbs
• Ability to work in dust and adverse weather conditions and temperatures
