Job Summary:

Aventure Staffing is partnering with an industry leader in Southern Minnesota searching for a skilled and detail-oriented Product Design Engineer. This is an opportunity to design and develop hydraulic cylinders for industrial, agricultural, and construction equipment. In this role, you'll be responsible for creating innovative, reliable, and cost-effective designs that meet customer and industry specifications while ensuring they are ready for manufacturing and perform as expected.

 Key Responsibilities:

• Design and develop hydraulic cylinders using 3D CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCad).
• Create detailed drawings and specifications for manufacturing, including material selection and tolerance analysis.
• Collaborate with manufacturing, sales, and quality teams to ensure product feasibility and performance.
• Conduct engineering analysis, including pressure rating calculations, and stress analysis.
• Maintain and update design documentation, BOMs, and revision control through PDM/PLM systems.
• Support prototyping, testing, and validation of new designs and product improvements.
• Provide technical support for customer inquiries, custom designs, and troubleshooting.
• Ensure compliance with relevant standards (e.g., ISO, SAE, ASME) and customer specifications.
• Participate in design reviews, DFMEA, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or commensurate experience
• 3+ years of experience in mechanical design, preferably in hydraulic cylinder or fluid power systems.
• Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCad).
• Knowledge of hydraulic systems, seals, pressure ratings, and fluid mechanics.
• Understanding of manufacturing processes such as machining, welding, and assembly.
• Familiarity with GD&T, drafting standards, and engineering change processes.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience in a hydraulic cylinder manufacturing environment.
• Familiarity with ERP systems (Made 2 Manage a plus).
• Knowledge of steel material properties and coatings used in hydraulic applications.
• Hands-on experience with testing and validation of hydraulic components.
