Job Description

Hatchery Laborer | $14.50/hr Starting Pay

Part-Time Shifts Available, Monday & Tuesdays, 6am - until the work is done

Are you dependable, punctual, and ready to roll up your sleeves? We're hiring part-time workers for a fast-paced, hands-on role with a local chicken hatchery in the Algona, IA area. The part-time schedule works Mondays & Tuesdays starting at 6am until whenever the work is done. Whether you're looking to earn extra income or gain experience in a unique environment, reliability and a strong work ethic are a must. If you show up ready to work and take pride in doing the job right, we want to hear from you!

Responsibilities:

  • Transfer and process eggs from boxes onto trays
  • Load trays onto carts
  • Check eggs for imperfections
  • Regular inspection of eggs/chicks while incubating
  • Transfer baby chicks and prepare for shipment
  • Regular sanitation
  • Other duties as assigned

Requirements:

  • Ability to lift up to 60lbs frequently
  • Ability to lift approx. 13 to 30lbs over the shoulders/head repeatedly
  • Ability to stand for 8+ hours a day
