Temp Accounting Assistant | $18-$20/hour

A Sioux City area company is seeking a detail-oriented Temporary Accounting Assistant for a 3-to-4-month engagement to support our financial team through our upcoming annual internal audit. This role will focus on preparing audit documentation, reconciling accounts, and ensuring compliance with internal controls.
Responsibilities:
Gather, organize, and review financial records, schedules, and supporting documentation for internal and external auditors.
Assist with general ledger entries, balance sheet reconciliations, and variance analysis.
Sample and verify transactions, expense reports, invoices, and receipts to ensure accuracy and policy compliance.
Maintain audit files, track data requests, and communicate progress directly with the accounting team and audit leads.
Requirements:
1–3 years of accounting, bookkeeping, or audit support experience.
Proficiency in MS Excel (VLOOKUPs, Pivot Tables) and familiarity with standard ERP/accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, NetSuite).
Strong attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
