Waste Collection Driver - $25+/hr. DOE

Part-time and Full-time positions available, Morning shift, 30-35hrs per week

A waste management company in the Sheldon area is looking for a dedicated and responsible Waste Collection Driver to join their team. The Waste Collection Driver will operate garbage trucks to collect residential, commercial, and industrial waste and recyclables on designated routes. The ideal candidate will have a commitment to safety, excellent driving skills, and a strong work ethic. This role is crucial in maintaining the cleanliness of the community and supporting environmental sustainability efforts.

Responsibilities:

• Safely drive and operate garbage and recycling trucks, including side-loading, rear-loading, and front-loading models, to collect waste and recyclables on assigned routes.
• Follow predetermined collection routes in an efficient manner, adjusting for road conditions, traffic, and other variables to ensure timely waste pickup.
• Collect waste and recyclable materials from residential, commercial, and industrial locations.
• Follow all traffic laws and waste management safety regulations to ensure the safety of yourself, other drivers, pedestrians, and the environment.
• Complete daily logs, including route progress, waste collected, any delays, and other relevant information.
• Other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

• Minimum one (1) year of related welding experience and/or training required.
• Valid Class B (or higher) Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with air brake endorsement required.
• Prior experience operating heavy trucks or waste collection vehicles preferred. Previous experience in waste management or a related field is an asset.
• Good physical stamina, with the ability to lift, carry, and handle heavy objects.
• Ability to operate waste collection vehicles safely and efficiently.
