Weld Cleaner/Finisher

M-F 6am-4:30pm

$18/hr

We are seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Weld Cleaner to assist in the final stages of the welding and fabrication process. The Weld Cleaner is responsible for cleaning, grinding, and finishing welds on metal components to ensure a smooth, professional appearance and prepare them for painting, coating, or assembly. This role is essential to maintaining the quality and appearance of finished products.

Key Responsibilities:

• Clean welded metal surfaces using grinders, sanders, brushes, chemicals, or other finishing tools.
• Remove slag, spatter, burrs, and oxidation from welds and surrounding areas.
• Grind and polish welds to meet visual and structural standards.
• Inspect finished surfaces for defects or irregularities and report issues to supervisors or welders.
• Follow safety procedures when working with hand tools, power tools, and cleaning chemicals.

Requirements:

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Previous experience in metal finishing, welding, or fabrication environment preferred.
• Basic knowledge of hand and power tools (grinders, wire brushes, sanding tools, etc.).
• Ability to read and understand basic fabrication drawings or instructions.
• Strong attention to detail and focus on quality.
• Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs, stand for long periods, and work in a noisy or dusty environment.
• Willingness to follow safety protocols, including wearing PPE such as gloves, goggles, and hearing protection.

Compensation and Benefits:

• $18-20/hour
• Paid every Friday
