Welder

$18-$10/Hr based on experience

Mon-Fri 7:30am-3:15pm

Experienced welder wanted! If you have a passion for welding and the experience to back it up, this position is perfect for you. Work for a well established, local company that has been in business over 50 years.

Responsibilities:

• Clean and prepare metal surfaces before welding, which may involve grinding, sandblasting, or using chemical treatments to remove impurities and rust.
• Ensure proper alignment and fit-up of metal parts to be welded.
• Review technical drawings, blueprints, and schematics to understand the required dimensions, welding specifications, and materials.
• Follow specific welding instructions for different types of projects and materials.
• Prepare welding machines, including adjusting settings for temperature, amperage, voltage, and other parameters based on the material and thickness.
• Check the quality of completed welds by inspecting for defects, cracks, or weak points.
• Perform routine maintenance on welding machines and tools to ensure they remain in proper working order.
• Troubleshoot and repair welding equipment as needed.
• Follow strict safety protocols, including wearing protective gear such as welding helmets, gloves, and flame-resistant clothing.
• Work in compliance with safety standards such as OSHA or local regulations to avoid accidents or injuries.

Requirements:

• High school diploma or GED. Completion of a welding certification or vocational training program is preferred.
• Proficiency in various welding techniques, the ability to read blueprints and technical documents, and knowledge of safety practices.
• Previous experience in welding or a related field required.
• Ability to lift heavy materials, stand or bend for long periods, and work in challenging conditions such as heat, confined spaces, or noisy environments.
